The causes and symptoms of intestinal worms.

Intestinal worms are also known as Intestinal parasites or Parasitic worms. They generally grow in children who have ingested larva eggs, typically from exposure to soil or surfaces contaminated with human feces.

The intestinal worms are most common in children and sometime in adults also. The common types of intestinal worms are flatworms which include tapeworms and flukes and the roundworms, which are ascariasis, pinworm, and hookworm infections.

Causes of Intestinal Worms

Under cooked food or impure food,

Contaminated water or impure water

Consumption of contaminated soil

Contact with contaminated feces

Swimming pool and river water.

Poor sanitation

Poor Personal hygiene

Symptoms

Some children may never show any signs or symptoms, but they can still carry the parasite and spread it through their stool. Some children may suffer from itching at nights as the worms come out of the anus for laying eggs. So, they frequently scratch their anus.

They may have the other symptoms like Fever, Restlessness, Sleeplessness, Foul breath, Loss of appetite, Weight loss, Anemia, Nausea and vomiting, Bloating or gas, Soft and  greasy stools, Worms in stools, Stomach pain, Diarrhea and sometimes Dysentery.

Treatment

In most cases the intestinal worms can be treated with home remedies. But if you see the symptoms like blood or pus in your stool,  vomiting daily or frequently, have an elevated body temperature and extremely fatigued and dehydrated, then consult doctor immediately
