How to Develop Android Apps
Android is a smart phone provided by Google, which combines the functionality of mobile phones and computers. Android applications can be developed using the same tools used to develop Java applications. Android’s core libraries will provide you with the functions needed to build high quality rich mobile apps whilst providing you with development tools to make debugging, running and testing your applications much easier.
Developers can create Android applications for the platform using the Android SDK. Android applications are written using the Java programming language and run on Dalvik, a custom virtual machine designed for embedded use which runs on top of a Linux kernel.
Nowadays, the Android continues to grow in terms of applications and devices. You have to take into consideration different steps on how to develop Android apps if you want to program applications for the platform. It is very important for you to build your knowledge on developing applications and increase your learning for programming tasks.
Developing Android Applications through step-by-step process :
To develop Android Applications, first you need to install the Java Development Kit and then download Eclipse Integrated Development Environment online and install it on your computer. The development tools and resources for your Android platform are targeted to develop in Eclipse so it is a very suitable environment for the application.
The next process is to download Android Software Development Kit (SDK) in another browser that provides the tools to develop Android applications for developing Android apps. The Android SDK is also included showing you sample projects , source code, development tools, an emulator and all the libraries you’ll need to build your Android app.
Open the Android SDK and create an AVD, which is an Android virtual device. Click the “Window” file menu item and select “Android SDK and AVD Manager.” Type a name for the AVD, such as “Android,’ and click “OK” to create the virtual device that you use as the emulator in the Eclipse software.
Open the Eclipse software and create a new project. To create a new project, click the “File” menu item, click “New,” then click “Android Project” in the list of project types. Double-click the Java file created in the left navigation panel.
Now you can make a new project for the Android app you wish to develop by entering the details of the application along the package name and its SDK versions when you establish and Android project. Different interface designs can be created for your app using XML files.
With your Java-coded program logic, make an Activity for each screen of your application. In the Manifest files, enter the version of the app and its other details. You can supply additional version numbers for each app upgrade. Test and run your apps on your device while developing them.
Thus after completing all the steps in developing Android apps, you can now apply for the release.
