Major Types of Cancer
Cancer is the abnormal growth of the cells in body, which is also known as malignancy. There are more than 100 types of cancer, the major types of cancer are carcinoma, sarcoma, melanoma, lymphoma, and leukemia.
It is the most common type of cancer, which is originated in the skin, lungs, breasts, pancreas and other organs and glands. It develops in the epithelial tissues or the inner or outer surface of the body.
Sarcoma is the malignant tumor, a cancer that arise in bones, muscles, fat, blood vessels, cartilage or other soft or connective tissues of the body. It is a malignant tumor.
Melanoma is the most dangerous type of skin cancer, which develops when unrepaired DNA damages the skin cells. It develops in the pigment producing cells called melanocytes which mutate and become cancerous.
Lymphoma is the cancer that develops from the lymphocytes or white blood cells. The lymphocytes are present in the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, bone marrow, and other parts of the body. The lymphocytes change and grow abnormally out of control.
Leukemia is the cancer of blood which arise in bone marrow, which creates blood cells. It is cause my the abnormal growth of white blood cells. It is most common in children.
