What is ServiceNow?

ServiceNow is a cloud company and major player in ITSM. ServiceNow also caters for IT Operation Management, IT Business Management. It has robust cloud platform on top of which, any application can be built swiftly. ServiceNow Platform is one of the biggest strengths of ServiceNow.

History of ServiceNow?

After serving as CTO for Peregrine Systems in San Diego, Fred Luddy started Glidesoft, Inc. in 2003. Glidesoft specialized in IT service management applications based on ITIL standards. In 2006, the company changed its name to ServiceNow. In 2007, ServiceNow reported an annual revenue of $13 million and began serving IT solutions to large companies such as TIAA-CREF, Intel, Staples, Safeway, University of San Francisco, and AstraZeneca.

In 2011, Frank Slootman replaced Luddy as CEO. Slootman was previously the CEO of Data Domain before it was purchased by EMC Corporation.

In 2012, ServiceNow became a publicly traded company. ServiceNow was therefore the first technology company taken public by Morgan Stanley since Facebook. Shortly after going public, ServiceNow relocated its headquarters from San Diego to Santa Clara.

On February 27, 2017 ServiceNow announced that its Board of Directors had named John Donahoe President and CEO, to start on April 3, 2017 when Frank Slootman, the current President, CEO and Chairman of the Board, would be stepping down.

What is the scope of ServiceNow in India?

ServiceNow is evolving a lot and offers its products to companies of all sizes including startups. So in personal opinion, it has great future in India and also globally. It has been growing really fast (close to 2k+ customers). Its been close to 14 years now since its inception but its working like startup. It has also acquired few companies in India and has dev centre in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

If you look at the revenue, it has crossed $1B in FY 2016 and share has been bullish like never before.

class.
2.Replaces the need for an external DCIM product.

3.ServiceNow’s ability to create references between records and display this information in related lists provides great insight into how the data correlates.

4.Very powerful Workflows for both Work Tasks as well as Approval Tasks. Escalations can also be configured.
5.Cloning of instances is easy and provides like-for-like testing of performance related testing.
