Thyroid Cancer Symptoms And Causes
Thyroid cancer is the cancer in the tissues of thyroid glands. If diagnosed early, the thyroid cancer is the most treatable form of cancer.
Thyroid cancer most common in women then men. It is found at the age of 40 to 50 in women, whereas 60 to 70 years in men.
There are 4 types of thyroid cancer : 1. Papillary thyroid cancer 2. Follicular thyroid cancer, 3. Medullar thryoid cancer and 4. Anaplastic thyroid cancer.
There will be no symptoms in early stage of thyroid cancer. There will be only few symptoms of thyroid cancer.
The symptoms include – Neck pain, throat pain, difficulty in swallowing, Voice change and hoarseness, cough, A lump that can be felt through the skin on your neck and swollen lymph nodes in neck.
The causes of thyroid cancer is not clear. But the few factors are inherited genetic syndrome, exposure to radiation, iodine deficiency.
The thyroid cancer can be diagnosed with physical tests, genetic tests, biopsy, ultrasound, CT Scan, PET Scan.
The treatments include surgery, hormone therapy, radioactive iodine, radiation and chemotherapy.
