Our body creates uric acid by the break down of chemical compounds called purines, which occur naturally in the body and also found in variety of foods. Most uric acid dissolves in blood and excreted as urine, excessive uric acid can cause kidney stones and gout.

Red meat delivers high uric acid than other foods. Poultry, white meats, pork and organ meats are also high in uric acid. so limit your meat intake.

Sea Foods
Sea foods are also the main sources of uric acid. sea foods like shellfish, anchovies, sardines, herring, mussels, codfish, scallops, trout and haddock are high purine foods.

Alcohol produces high uric acid levels in the body and makes the body difficult to remove the execcessive uric acid.

High Sugar Drinks
The high sugar drinks like soda and fruit juice with sugar contain fructose corn syrup which helps in production of uric acid which leads to gout.

Some Vegetables
Some vegetables like Spinach, Cauliflower, Asparagus, Beans, Peas and some other legumes are rich in uric acid. So limit the intake of these foods.

Generally mushrooms are used for the replacement of meat. But mushrooms contain moderately high uric acid levels.

Oats are the healthiest food but they are also contain moderate amount of uric acid. Doctors suggest to limit the oats consumption in gout patients.
